Formerly, Central Vietnam Metal Corporation – CEVIMETAL was a State-owned enterprise, a member of Vietnam Steel Corporation (VNSTEEL). A brief description of its history of establishment and development is as follows: In 1995, Central Vietnam Metal and General Materials Company came into being according to Decision No. 1065 QD/TCCB-DT dated December 20, 1994 by the Minister of Heavy Industry. It was the merging between Danang Metal Company and Danang Scrap Materials Company.
